In His teachings, Jesus constantly made reference to heaven as the place where God resides and where those who are in relationship with God will spend eternity. He spoke of heaven as His own destination and promised His disciples that He would prepare a place for them in heaven as well. Never is there any hint of heaven as being a mythical place. Heaven is a real hope for all who love Jesus and trust Him as Savior. 

"In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." John 14:2-3
